Today the Archbishop of Armagh will ordain to the diaconate Hilary Dungan, David Luckman and Alan Millar. Tomorrow the Archbishop of Dublin will ordain three deacons, Avril Bennett, Patrick Comerford and Timothy Close, and one priest, the Rev Roy Byrne, in Christ Church Cathedral.

The preacher will be the Archdeacon of Dublin, the Ven Gordon Linney. This is the second year in which the Diocese of Dublin has experimented with ordaining deacons and priests at the same service.

Elsewhere the ordinations are all to the priesthood. The Bishop of Kilmore will ordain the Rev Noel Regan, while the Bishop of Down and Dromore will ordain the Rev Craig McCauley, the Rev Andrew McCroskery, the Rev William Press and the Rev Marie Walshe at a service in Down Cathedral, where the preacher will be Canon Michael Burrows. In St Peter's Church, Belfast, where the preacher will be the Right Rev Martin Lind, Bishop of Linkoping, Sweden, the Bishop of Connor will raise to the priesthood the Rev Ronald Elsdon, the Rev Elizabeth Henderson, the Rev Paul Jack and the Rev Terence Kerr.

The ordinations in Belfast are also a part of the celebrations to mark the centenary of St Peter's Church, which was consecrated on June 29th, 1900. Tomorrow the Bishop of Meath and Kildare, Dr Richard Clarke, will preach at the Sung Eucharist.

On Thursday, St Peter's Day, the Bishop of Connor will preside at Festival Evensong, at which the preacher will be the Rev J.R.B. McDonald, who was ordained a curate for the parish in June 1941. St Peter's Church, where the rector is the Rev Charles McCollum, is situated on the Antrim Road.

Tomorrow the Dioceses of Cashel and Ossory will gather in the Waterford Institute of Technology for a Celebration of Faith, while in Co Meath the preacher at the annual open-air service on the Hill of Tara will be the Rector of Navan, the Rev John Clarke.

In St Patrick's Church, Monaghan, a 31-strong team from the Diocese of Clogher will be commissioned for a visit to Kenya next month.

In Dublin the Irish Guards will celebrate the centenary of the regiment at Matins in St Patrick's Cathedral.

The hymns will be accompanied by the regimental band and the preacher will be a son of the Church of Ireland Canon, Gerry Murphy, who served as an army chaplain for 22 years.

In Christ Church Cathedral the annual parade service of the St John's Ambulance Brigade will take place at the Sung Eucharist when the preacher will be the Rev Anne Taylor, curate of Rathfarnham.

On Tuesday the Church of Ireland Broadcasting Committee will visit the studios of Lyric FM in Limerick, while in Kinsale the Pro Musica Choir from Dalarna in Sweden will give a recital in St Multose's Church with the proceeds going to the Tower Restoration Fund. On Wednesday the Chaplain of Trinity College, Dr Alan McCormack, and the Chapel Choir leave for a tour of New York.

The Bishop of Cashel and Ossory, the Right Rev John Neill, has appointed the Rev Philip Heak as Diocesan Youth Officer for the united dioceses of Cashel and Ossory, Mr Heak, who is at present curate assistant in Galway, will take up his post in October.
