On Tuesday evening, in Christ Church Cathedral, the Archbishop of Dublin will preside at the launch of A Catalogue of Maps of the Estates of the Arch- bishops of Dublin, 1654-1850.

The catalogue has been written by Dr Raymond Refausse, Librarian and Archivist of the Church of Ireland, and Ms Mary Clark, Dublin City Archivist, and is prefaced by an introduction by Dr Raymond Gillespie, Senior Lecturer in Modern History at NUI-Maynooth, which places the maps in their historical context.
An appendix, by Mr Ronnie Wallace, editor of the forthcoming biographical succession list of the clergy of Dublin and Glendalough, provides biographical information on the archbishops of the period, and there is also an appendix of biographical details of the surveyors who drew the maps.
The text is illustrated with examples of the maps and details from them in both black-and-white and colour.
