A child has been killed and nine other people injured in a series of bomb blasts targeting the homes of police officers, Iraqi officials said today.
The officials said the explosions were caused by roadside bombs planted near three houses belonging to security officers in Baqouba as families were sleeping.
Baqouba is 60km (35 miles) northeast of the capital, Baghdad.
A medical official at Baqouba hospital confirmed the casualty toll. Iraqi officials have warned of a resurgence of Sunni and Shia militants and an increase in violence after the US troop withdrawal.
