Moscow - A US aid worker was kidnapped in Chechnya and another slightly wounded after gunmen, apparently separatist rebels, attacked their cars, Russian officials and aid workers said yesterday.
The aid group Medecins sans Frontieres (MSF) said the kidnap victim was Mr Kenny Gluck, its main representative in Russia.
Russian officials said a search had been launched for Mr Gluck and criticised the aid workers for entering Chechnya. Most of Chechnya is under Russian control, but fighting still takes place, even in the regional capital, Grozny, which Russia seized a year ago.
