The Cork based Chernobyl Children's Project is the first Irish charity on the Internet, Dick Hogan reports from Cork. At yesterday's launching, the project director, Ms Adi Roche, said that 10 years after the Chernobyl disaster access to the Internet would help fund raising efforts significantly.
During the last 10 years, Ms Roche and her team have brought hundreds of Belarussian children to Ireland where they have received free medical attention. This summer, some 1,200 children from the region will be taken to Ireland, Britain and the US by the Chernobyl Children's Project the largest group to be given a break from radiation contamination.
