Lubomir Moravcik insists he won't sign another deal with Celtic - because he wants to be the national coach of Slovakia.

The midfielder agreed to stay at Parkhead for one more year after Celtic won the Treble last season, despite claims that he would leave the east end of Glasgow.

But he insists he won't be tempted to extend his contract at Celtic for yet another year because his dream lies with managing his country's national team.

He told the Daily Record: "It is my dream to return to Slovakia and become the national coach. This is exactly what I would like to realise in my future career.

"The national team is special. For players and coaches it is like playing every game in the Champions League.

"It would not be so special to be a club manager because you don't have the same responsibilities.

"If I could become the national coach of Slovakia, I'd have the chance to work with some very good players and to make choices that would affect the whole country.

"In Slovenia, Srecko Katanech is also doing a good job with the national side and I would like to be given the chance of doing a similar job for my country."

Although Slovakia are searching for a new manager at the moment the highly-rated player knows he can't take advantage of the vacancy because of his commitments to Celtic.

But he admits he is praying for another chance to take over his country's top job.

He added: "Slovakia are looking for a new national manager right now but I can't do it because I am still playing for Celtic.

"Who knows what will happen now? Another guy could get the chance and maybe he will be there for years so I will have to wait for my opportunity.

"But, hopefully, one day my dream can come true."
