A coroner's court in Derry was told yesterday no cause of death was ever found following the discovery of the body of a Co Louth student in Derry on June 23rd, 1998.

Mr Peadar Joseph Dunne (19), of Wallace Cove, Blackrock, Dundalk, was a chemical engineering student on summer placement from Queen's University Belfast to the Du Pont industrial plant in Derry.

The coroner, Mr Ronnie O'Doherty, was told Mr Dunne returned from his work at Du Pont on June 22nd and was last seen alive preparing to iron clothes for his following day's work.

In an affidavit Ms RoseMarie Noone, a flatmate of Mr Dunne, said she became concerned when he failed to appear the following morning. She said she entered Mr Dunne's bedroom and found him lying on his left side in bed. Mr Dunne's legs were purple.
