The Royal Mail has transferred Catholic postmen from an area on the outskirts of south Belfast following loyalist death threats against workers. A number of staff have moved out of Seymour Hill, Dunmurry, and deliveries may be suspended as a result of the intimidation.
A Royal Mail spokesman said a number of employees in Seymour Hill had been approached and advised that certain members of staff should not enter the area.
Meanwhile, republicans in the Ardoyne area of north Belfast yesterday alleged loyalists had attacked children and parents at a local Catholic school.
