A case against an inspector with the Department of Social, Community and Family Affairs, charged with failing to declare income over a three-year period, was further adjourned in Dundalk District Court yesterday.

Mr Matthew Birch (43), of Marsh Road, Bellurgan, Dundalk, faces three charges alleging that he did not make proper returns for income, profits or gains, or the sources of such income, for the three years from 1995-1998.

In court yesterday state solicitor Mr Gerry Daly said he was seeking a date for hearing of the case, but Mr James MacGuill, defending, said that documents still had to be furnished to him. The case was adjourned to November 14th next.
