Maxine Carr remained in a stable condition in hospital after what some reports suggested was a prison suicide bid.

Maxine Carr remained in a stable condition in hospital after what some reports suggested was a prison suicide bid.

Ms Carr is accused of perverting the course of justice following the deaths of British schoolgirls Holly Wells and Jessica Chapman.

The 25-year-old reportedly tried to kill herself after a chance meeting at a police station with partner Mr Ian Huntley (28) who is accused of murdering the girls.

Ms Carr reportedly became hysterical after Mr Huntley snubbed her during the encounter, which happened at the high security Paddington Green police station, where she was being questioned.
