The woman charged in connection with the death of British girls Holly Wells and Jessica Chapman (both 10) has been refused bail at a court hearing today.
Ms Maxine Carr (25) is accused of perverting the course of justice following the disappearance of the girls near their homes in Soham, Cambridgshire in August. Their bodies were found two weeks later in undergrowth a few miles from their hometown.
Ms Carr's partner, Mr Ian Huntley (28) has been accused of murdering the girls and of conspiring with Ms Carr to pervert the course of justice.
Judge David Mellor refused Ms Carr's bail application at an in camera hearing at Norwich Crown Court and continued her remand to Holloway Prison.
The defendant was not in court and afterwards her lawyers said it they had not yet decided on whether to appeal.
Mr Huntley and Ms Carr - both of whom worked at the girls' school - are due before at Norwich Crown Court on November 15th.
