Cannabis worth €1.5m found in Dublin

Gardaí have seized cannabis worth an estimated €1.5 million and arrested a man (18) during raids in west Dublin.

A Garda spokesman said 108 kilos of cannabis resion, valued at €800,000, and 62 kilos of herbal cannabis, worth around €750,000, were discovered in Clondalkin during a planned search

He said small quanities of drugs were found hidden in bushes at 5.15am on Fonthill Road. During a follow-up search, gardaí found the remainder of the drugs in a van.

The search was carried out by members of the Divisional Drugs Unit and gardaí from Ronanstown.

A man (18) was arrested near the scene and is being questioned at Ronanstown Garda Station under Section 2 of the Drug Trafficking Act.

The van is being forensically examined.
