Gardaí have seized cannabis plants worth an estimated €160,000 during searches of two houses in Leitrim.
The Garda National Drugs Unit and local gardaí based at Carrick-on-Shannon, along with the Garda Air Support Unit, took part in the operation today.
A Garda spokesman said the two semi-detached houses in Drumod had been adapted as "cannabis cultivation sites".
Some 400 plants with an estimated street value of €160,000 were seized, although this is subject to analysisi.
Gardaí said there was a sophisticated lighting, irrigation and ventilation system in place.
A 25-year-old man and an 18-year-old woman were arrested and they are being detained under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice ( Drug Trafficking ) Act 1996 at Carrick-On-Shannon Garda station.
