Canvassing is expected to intensify among the seven candidates in the Dublin West byelection this week.
The byelection, which was caused by the death of former Fianna Fáil minister for finance Brian Lenihan, will be held on October 27th, the same day as the presidential election and two referendums.
Four of the byelection candidates also contested the general election – Labour’s Patrick Nulty, Fianna Fáil’s David McGuinness, Sinn Féin’s Paul Donnelly, and Roderic O’Gorman, of the Green Party. The other byelection candidates are Eithne Loftus, Fine Gael; Ruth Coppinger, United Left Alliance; and Barry Caesar Hunt, Independent.
