A body discovered buried beside a Dublin canal tonight is thought to be a 17-year-old youth missing for more than three years.
The find was made after a police search that lasted several hours on the banks of the Grand Canal in Clondalkin.
The Garda tonight would only confirm that the excavation of an area on the banks of the canal was in connection with the investigation into the disappearance of a 17-year-old who has been missing for three years.
The area has been sealed for forensic investigation and Assistant State Pathologist Dr Marie Cassidy is to perform a post mortem on the body.
