The Canadian High Commission today advised all its nationals to seriously consider leaving Pakistan as expectations rose of US strikes against Afghanistan.
"Given recent developments, I suggest that you seriously consider whether it is essential for you and your family to remain in Pakistan", the high commissioner (ambassador) told Canadians in a letter.
"If not, I would seriously recommend that you depart as soon as possible, or at least arrange for the departure of your dependents", it added.
Britain today ordered diplomatic dependents and non-essential staff to leave Pakistan, while the United States has also given non-essential staff and dependents the option to leave the country.
