Canadian rugby authorities today bowed to pressure and cancelled the troubled Test match against touring Australia next month.

Keith Wilkinson, Canada's national team director, said Rugby Canada had written to the Australia Rugby Union (ARU) and informed them they had scrapped the October 27th game.

"Rugby Canada has written to the ARU to tell them that unfortunately it will be impossible to hold this match," Wilkinson said.

Canadian rugby has been in uproar since the dismissal of popular national team coach Dave Clark, with the country's top 60 players all vowing to boycott internationals unless the Australian is reinstated.
