Ireland West Airport Knock yesterday announced it had its busiest year ever in 2011.
Passenger numbers jumped 11 per cent during 2011, and with Ryanair opening up new routes this year to Spain, Germany, France and Italy, management is confident of more growth in 2012.
Last year more than 654,500 passengers used the Co Mayo facility, up 65,000 passengers on 2010.
The airport has been in business since 1985.
