A woman who used a forged social welfare bus pass was fined £150 for nonpayment of her fare yesterday. Yvonne Wade, of Marigold Park, Darndale, was also ordered to pay £30 costs at Dublin District Court for non-payment of a £25 fine imposed on the No 27 bus at Barry's Court on November 11th last year.
A Bus Eireann inspector, Mr Mark McSherry, said the defendant acted suspiciously when she tendered the bus pass. He discovered a passport photograph had been superimposed on someone else's card.
Ms Wade then panicked and admitted the card was not hers. It has since been returned to the Department of Social Welfare, the inspector added.
Judge Clare Leonard imposed the fine in the defendant's absence and gave her three months to pay.
