Two brothers appeared at a special court in Craigavon yesterday on charges concerned with an alleged incident in the courthouse the previous day. Mr Stephen Gardiner (26) and Mr Philip Anthony Gardiner (22), were charged with wounding Mr Jeffrey Scroggie with intent to cause him grievous bodily harm. The RUC said the alleged incident took place on the stairway inside the courthouse following an inquest into a non-terrorist related death. Mr Scroggie received a stab wound in the face and was admitted to Craigavon area hospital.

The defendants were remanded in custody until October 30th.
