BRITAIN: New research has shown that British people are more likely to want to enjoy life than budget during their old age to leave an inheritance for younger generations.
Britons are attracted by the theory of leaving a house or money when they die. However, two-thirds of those with the means to make a bequest say they plan to enjoy life and not worry about a legacy.
The report, for the Joseph Rowntree Foundation, found that just 28 per cent of people with the potential to leave money behind said they would be careful with their finances so they could leave an inheritance.
