Escaped prisoner Richard Brazil was re-arrested last night by gardai in Coolock, and has been returned to Mountjoy Prison.
Brazil escaped from the custody of prison officers at Rathcoole, Co Dublin, last Friday while on his way to Cork Prison. He produced a syringe and threatened the staff before making his escape.
Members of the Garda Emergency Response Unit and local gardai from Coolock surrounded a house at Ferrickcarrick Green last night and arrested Brazil.
