Two 13-year-old boys appeared in court today charged over the rape of a girl in a park.
The teenagers were charged with attacking a girl in her late teens as she walked through Woodvale Park in the north of Belfast just after 5.30pm last Monday.
One of the 13-year-olds faced four charges - rape, attempted rape, armed robbery and causing grievous bodily harm with intent.
The other was charged with attempted rape, aiding and abetting rape, armed robbery, grievous bodily harm with intent and making threats to kill.
Neither boy who appeared in the youth court at Belfast Magistrates' Court can be identified because of their age.
A detective told the court that the first accused replied "no" to each charge and the second "nothing, I didn't rape nobody". The detective told the court he believed he could connect both the accused with the charges.
They were remanded in custody to a Young Offenders Centre over Christmas to appear at the same court via video link on January 3rd.
