A judge asked yesterday that state agencies be alerted after he was forced to send a 15 year old Limerick boy to an adult prison for the second time in two weeks.
Judge Michael Reilly was told in Limerick District Court that there were no places available in the juvenile detention centres for the youth who had pleaded guilty to car theft. The judge said the adult jail was a "completely unsuitable place". But he added that as the boy had said he did not want bail, "my hands are tied".
