A former Irish international boxer has been jailed for 27 months for his role in an attack on a then 14-year-old Bosnian boy. Kenneth Andrews (23), of Raheen Drive, Ballyfermot pleaded guilty at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court to assaulting the youth in November 1997.
Andrews was one of three men who pulled up in a car where the victim was walking and beat and kicked him. He had previous larceny convictions and is presently serving an 11 months sentence.
The victim was on his way to a shop to buy sweets after earlier meeting his sisters at Dublin Airport.
