A musician, a retired optician, a handyman and a clergyman have been included on the Revenue's latest quarterly Tax Defaulters' List.

Jazz musician Paddy Cole made a payment of €834,726 in tax and penalties for an underdeclaration of income tax as a result of investigations into bogus non-resident accounts and offshore accounts.

The list also contains a record payment of €22,169,642 by property developers Bovale Developments for unpaid income tax, corporation tax, VAT, PAYE and PRSI.

Handyman Declan Bushe from Douglas, Co Cork, paid €198,942 to Revenue, while hardware shop owner Charles Corr, Skerries Co Dublin paid €759,198.

Retired optician Peter J. Crowley from Freemount Drive, Bishopstown, Co Cork, made a payment of €2.2 million as a result of the Revenue's offshore assets investigations.

Deceased solicitor Liam McGonagle from Howth, Co Dublin, made a settlement for €2.75 million. The settlement was the only one on today's list emerging from investigations into Ansbacher accounts.

Other payments of over €1 million were received from Skerries, Co Dublin, building contractors Chatham Pipelines Ltd (€1,229,905); retired television repair shop owner Peter Lydon from Kilkelly, Co Mayo (€1,018,265); and retired company director James McGrath from Grange Park, Waterford (€1,414,600).

Clergyman Bart Desmond from Macroom, Co Cork, made a payment of €30,936 to Revenue as a result of investigations into bogus non-resident accounts.

The latest list of tax defaulters covers the period between January 1st and March 31st.

In the three-month period there were 150 settlements published totalling €55.55 million.

Of the 150 published settlements, 54 were for amounts exceeding €100,000; a further eight exceeded €500,000 and a further eight exceeded €1,000,000.

Settlements by 59 individuals or firms, totalling €12.73 million related to bogus non-resident accounts.

Other details include 30 settlements totalling €11.39 million relating to Revenue investigations into offshore funds; six settlements totalling €0.93 million related to Revenue's single premium insurance product investigation.

The published settlements reflect only a portion only of all Revenue audits and investigations in the three-month period to March 31st last. The total yield in the period was €109.57 million.
