A bomb exploded early today outside the home of a Basque policeman in the northern town of Azpeitia but no one was injured in the blast, which police blamed on the Basque separatist group ETA.
The homemade explosive device caused damage to the doors of several apartments, including the one belonging to the officer, police said.
Today's incident came three days after a 25-year-old Basque policeman was killed and another injured in a car bomb attack, also attributed to ETA, in the northern town of Hernani.
ETA wants an independent state incorporating the three northern Spanish provinces which now form the autonomous Basque region, neighbouring Navarra province and the French Basque country.
