Bomb blast damages house near Holy Cross School

The RUC were today investigating reports of an explosion at a house in north Belfast.

The RUC were today investigating reports of an explosion at a house in north Belfast.

The blast occurred at the rear of a house in Alliance Avenue, close to the dispute at Holy Cross Primary School.

There were no reports of any injuries.

Sinn Fein councillor Ms Margaret McClenaghan accused the UDA over the attack which she claimed was designed to kill Catholics living in the house.

She said: "It was only through good fortune that nobody was killed or injured in this attack which blew a door off its hinges."
