The body of a man has today been recoverd from the River Fergus in Ennis, Co Clare.
While the body has yet to be formally identified it is believed the remains are those of a 31-year-old Polish man who was reported missing last Wednesday.
The man, named as Przemyslaw Jablonski, who worked as a cook in Ennis, entered the river after attending a party at an apartment close to the riverbank.
The man was reported missing at about 7.30pm last Wednesday. However, it is understood he may have been unaccounted for for up to 20 minutes before the alarm was raised.
Divers from the Garda Water Unit joined in the search for the missing man at the weekend. Other services involved in the search have include Doolin Coast Guard, Limerick Search and Rescue, Clare Fire Service, Clare Civil Defence, Burren Sub Aqua unit and the Shannon- based Coast Guard helicopter.
