Gardai investigating the disappearance of a German woman have found a body near Drogheda, Co Louth.

Gardai investigating the disappearance of a German woman have found a body near Drogheda, Co Louth.

A Garda spokesman said the body of a woman was found shortly after midday in undergrowth at the entrance to Donore village, Co Meath just outside Drogheda.

The body was decomposed, the spokesman added.

He said the area was sealed off and the State Pathologist was on his way to carry out an examination.

Ms Bettina Poeschel was last seen on October 2nd in Drogheda train station on her way to to Newgrange, near Donore village.
