Body of missing woman found

The body of a missing pregnant woman was recovered from the sea at Howth, Co Dublin, yesterday.

Anna Byrne (35) from Beechdale, Dunboyne, Co Meath, was 38 weeks pregnant. She went missing from her home on Wednesday morning.

Her body was discovered in the sea off the Baily lighthouse at about 8am. Gardaí, the Coast Guard helicopter and the Howth lifeboat were involved in the search.

Ms Byrne’s body was taken to Connolly Hospital Blanchardstown, Dublin, for a postmortem. Gardaí are not looking for anyone else in connection with her death.
