The body of a young man has been found in Cobh harbour by localemergency services.
The alarm was raised after a man in his early 20s fell into the water at Glenbrook at around 2.00 am.
Two friends with the man jumped in to try to save him, but they also got into trouble. They had to be rescued by the Fire Brigade.
A body was recovered at 8.00 am, and a Garda spokesman said that they were still awaiting a positive identification.
