Vatican - How many roads must a man walk down before he gets to sing for the Pope, Paddy Agnew writes. Bob Dylan might well ask himself that tonight when he breaks new ground by singing for Pope John Paul II during a concert which marks the penultimate day of the 23rd Italian Eucharist Congress in Bologna. Italian musicians have expressed their outrage both at having been excluded from the concert line-up and at the £200,000 fee allegedly paid by the bishops to Dylan for a performance not expected to last more than 30 minutes.
