London - Two prominent Church of England figures disagreed yesterday over what one of them dubbed the "cult of Diana".

The Archbishop of York, Dr David Hope, said the Diana museum which opened to the public on July 1st at the Spencer family home of Althorp was "the last thing she would have wanted".

But the Archbishop of Canterbury, Dr George Carey, said "it is surely right to thank God for the Princess of Wales's compassion and the hope she brought to so many needy people, and to pray for his blessing on her sons".
