Birmingham have this afternoon completed the signing of French World Cup-winning striker Christophe Dugarry from Bordeaux.
The 30-year-old has joined the club until the end of the season and becomes manager Steve Bruce's second signing during the January transfer window, with defender Ferdinand Coly now eligible to play after signing from French club Lens.
Dugarry has won 55 caps for France, scoring eight times, though he had not scored for Bordeaux this season in 16 appearances.
He was part of the France squad which won the World Cup on home soil in 1998 and the European Championships in Holland and Belgium two years later.
Bruce will be pinning his hopes on Dugarry to add guile to his attack - Blues have managed just 19 goals in 22 Barclaycard Premiership matches so far.
The Blues boss is now expected to turn his attentions to strengthening his defence after an injury crisis at the club robbed him of all his central defenders.
