DOESN'T the promise of a Big Bottle Dinner sound like just the sort of evening you need? If it does, then what could be better than the bottles being jeroboams of Louis Roederer Brut Premier, magnums of Macon-Vire Cuvee Speciale 93 from Domaine Andre Bonhomme, a trio of magnums of claret from the classic 1982 vintage, including Leovile-Lascases. A splash or two of a fine Sauternes to end, and you would be a happy bunny, would you not?

Well, if this is your idea of the Big Bottle Party from Heaven, don't delay in booking a place at Searson's of Monkstown's Big Bottle Dinner, to be held at Restaurant Patrick Guilbaud on Tuesday, March 19th. Guillaume Lebrun will be creating a special menu for the evening, and the cost is £90 per head - not bad value considering what you will be quaffing. Places are limited, and will be allocated on a first come-first served basis. The wines will be introduced by Charles Searson and John Wilson.
