IS MINISTER for Tourism, Enda Kenny, about to heave his rival FF candidate Beverly Cooper-Flynn into the sewage treatment plant at Castlebar?
The general election contest in Mayo will be the most keenly fought in the Republic, since six sitting deputies, Fine Gael's Kenny, Jim Higgins and Michael Ring and FF's Seamus Hughes, F.J. Morley and Tom Moffat are chasing five seats now that the two three-seaters, East and West, have been amalgamated by the boundary changes. Then there's FF's Bev who came close to taking the seat, won by Ring, in the by-election three years ago when her father Pee became EU Commissioner.
