Belfast man stabbed in overnight attack

The RUC is appealing for information following a serious assault on a 20-year-old man in Belfast last night.

The RUC is appealing for information following a serious assault on a 20-year-old man in Belfast last night.

The man, who is believed to have been looking for a taxi with a friend at the time, was attacked by a number of men in a walkway between Rossnareen Park and Shaws Road at about 2.30 a.m.

The men got out of a burgundy coloured cavalier car and beat the man with an iron bar. The 20-year-old also received three stab wounds to the back.

He was taken to hospital where his condition is said to be stable.

The man had been socialising in McDermotts bar on the Glen Road prior to the incident. The RUC are appealing for information relating to the attack or events prior to it.
