A 40-year-old Belfast man was found lying badly beat on the side of a Co Monaghan road last night.
The man was discovered at 10.30 p.m. in Raconnell by gardaí after a report from a member of the public. It is believed he may have been beaten up and dumped in the location. The scene has been preserved for technical examination.
He was taken to Cavan General Hospital where his condition this morning was described as "stable".
