A couple escaped unharmed after three shots were fired at their home in Belfast early this morning.
Loyalist paramilitaries admitted the attack in the nationalist Ardoyne area.
Bullets smashed through the kitchen and bathroom windows at the house in Farringdon Court at around 12.25. Another bullet hit the wall outside a bedroom.
The attack was claimed by the Red Hand Defenders in a call to a Belfast newsroom.
In another incident in Ardoyne the home of a 34-year-old man was targeted.
He was in the bathroom when a bullet pierced the window and the bathroom door. Three other people were in the house in Alliance Road at the time.
On the outskirts of north Belfast security forces were called to a house in the nationalist Greencastle area to deal with an unexploded pipe bomb.
The device was discovered in a garden in Bawnmore Park at around 12.20 a.m.
