David Beckham could be given the go-ahead to travel to the World Cup this weekend when he has a scan on his broken foot.
The England skipper is due to have an X-ray after having his lightweight high-tech boot removed.
The scan will reveal how well the broken second metatarsus in the Manchester United star's left foot has healed. If Beckham gets the all-clear, he could resume training next week.
The midfielder, who was 27 yesterday, should be fit well before the start of the World Cup and England's opening match against Sweden on June 2nd.
