David Beckham's Manchester United future was plunged into doubt again today as reports resurfaced linking him with a move to Barcelona.
The Spanish club's prospective new president Joan Laporta focused attention on a move for Beckham when he confirmed his intention to sign new players of the calibre of the England captain.
Fresh press reports claiming United are increasingly willing to listen to offers were followed today by top agent Jon Holmes' acknowledgement that it is "possible" Beckham may leave Old Trafford.
Holmes, managing director of SFX Sports Group (UK), quoted Beckham's most recently-stated official position.
"He has said that he wants to stay there [with United]," Holmes, before adding that is not necessarily the end of the matter.
"If the club alter their view - and it needs all parties to change their view - then, of course, everything is possible in football," he said.
