Beaumont Hospital in Dublin has reiterated its appeal for members of the public not to visit the hospital unless absolutely necessary due to a continuing spread of the winter vomiting virus.
Since Monday, 13 new cases have been reported, bringing the number of people displaying symptoms of the winter vomiting virus at the hospital to 57 yesterday.
“A total of 17 beds are closed in the wards affected, and Beaumont Hospital continues to appeal to the public to refrain from any unnecessary visiting,” a spokesman said.
“Only visits which are absolutely essential are allowed to any ward and, even then, restricted to one visitor per patient. No children are allowed to visit in any circumstances.”
Over 120 patients have been affected since the outbreak began on Friday, March 9th.
