TWO so called punishment beatings took place in Derry and Downpatrick, Co Down, on Saturday night. A 29 year old Downpatrick man is being treated in hospital for multiple fractures suffered when four men with sledgehammers and a spiked sticks attacked him.
A 36 year old man is in hospital in Derry following an assault on him by five or six men wielding baseball bats in Rinmore Drive. He suffered fractures of his ankle, elbow and finger and extensive bruising and needed stitches for a head wound.
