The BBC have signed world heavyweight boxing champion Lennox Lewis for television and radio broadcasting.

The BBC have signed world heavyweight boxing champion Lennox Lewis for television and radio broadcasting.

The deal is due to be completed today, beginning with the WBC and IBF title-holder's bout with American Hasim Rahman on April 21st.

The fight-by-fight deal is also expected to see Lewis's proposed blockbuster clash with Mike Tyson being covered by the BBC.

Lewis's business manager Adrian Ogun told The Sun: "Lennox had a fight-by-fight contract with Sky and he is delighted with his BBC deal.

"Lennox is anxious to give something back to his British fans who have followed him at home and spent lots of money flying to America to cheer for him."

The news follows the BBC deal with Olympic gold medallist boxer Audley Harrison.

He will make his professional debut in April or May after signing a two-year deal believed to be worth over £1million sterling.
