EIGHTY five supermarket workers who planned a day of war games in the mountains found the battle zone deserted when they arrived, Dublin Circuit Civil Court has been told.
Their counsel, Mr Timothy Sheehan, said his clients went to Roundwood, Co Wicklow, for "the ultimate outdoor adventure." But the high point of their day was a trip to McDonald's.
Judge Esmond Smyth was told the staff from Crazy Prices, Ballyfermot, had paid a £400 booking deposit but the mountain site was completely demilitarised when they presented arms.
Accepting that Corporate Systems and Supplies Ltd, which trades as Splatoon, had breached the workers' contract, Judge Smyth awarded them £30 each and told them to have a really good party indoors.
