Bank of Ireland's Life division today reported a growth in new business sales of 43 per cent to €139.6 million for the six months of 2004.
According to a statement from the bank today this represents a market share growth of about 3 per cent to over 24 per cent.
Business from single premiums grew by over €100 million to €331 million. The bank said this was evidence of a considerable move towards unit linked products.
Regular premium pension sales rose by 54 per cent to €70.7 million between January and the end of June with single premium pension sales growing by 23 per cent to €105 million.
The bank added that its Bank of Ireland Life said its regular premium savings sector grew by 117 per cent to €11.7 million, indicating a strong post-SSIA market recovery.
Mr Brian Forrester, managing director, Bank of Ireland Life said the division was starting to see growing investor confidence.
