A dispute between Irish Intercontinental Bank and the Tanaiste and Minister for Enterprise over moves to investigate the Ansbacher deposits has been resolved, the High Court heard yesterday.

Earlier this month, the bank secured a temporary injunction preventing a nominated officer of the Minister, Ms Harney, from gaining access to certain information in the bank's possession.

Yesterday, the High Court was told the bank's proceedings had been dropped.

Counsel for the bank said his clients were satisfied the Minister was acting within her jurisdiction in appointing an officer to seek and examine certain documents held by the bank.

Counsel said the bank was happy to comply with the request from the authorised officer.

The officer was appointed by the Minister to investigate the affairs of Celtic Helicopters, of which Mr Ciaran Haughey is a director.

It was indicated to the court yesterday that the bank would probably hand over the requested documents by close of business today.

Mr Peter Charleton SC, for the Minister, said she was delighted the bank now acknowledged that she was acting within her jurisdiction in appointing the investigating officer.
