Leeds United soccer star Lee Bowyer arrived for the fifth week of his trial on assault charges today with his injured nose covered by a large bandage and plaster.
The 24-year-old midfielder had surgery last Wednesday after breaking his nose more than two weeks ago during his side's game against Manchester United.
Bowyer had been excused attending Hull Crown Court since the operation, which he had to undergo after suffering breathing difficulties since the injury.
Bowyer, team mate Jonathan Woodgate (21), and Paul Clifford and Neale Caveney (both 22) are charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent to student Farfraz Najeib (21) following a confrontation outside a nightclub in January last year.
They deny the allegation and also deny affray.
