Hackneys and chauffeur-driven vehicles will not be allowed to use bus lanes, the Minister of State for Environment has confirmed, Marie O'Halloran reports.
"I have decided that there should be no change in the existing bus lane access provisions at this time," Mr Bobby Molloy said. The Department of Environment had completed its review of existing rules on access to bus lanes, in consultation with the Garda, the Dublin Transportation Office and Dublin Corporation.
The review was undertaken "following representations from parties representing limousine interests and other private hire operators", he informed Fine Gael TD for North Dublin, Ms Nora Owen in a written reply to a Parliamentary question.
